Birmingham International Airport is located 25 km to the south east of Birmingham off the A45 motorway. The airport links the midland region to other parts of the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. Two terminals serve the needs of more than 9 million travellers (2005)�that pass through the airport every year.

Terminal 1 is the busier of the two terminals with the variety of facilities reflecting the needs of the number of people that pass through it. There are bureau de change, banking and atm facilities in both terminals; a wide range of shopping outlets ranging from fashion stores and pharmacies to video game arcades are open 24 hours in Terminal 1. Food and beverage outlets are open all day and night and offer a range of cuisine to suit the needs of every hungry traveller. There is a prayer room available as well as Wudu facilities, please contact a member of the airport staff for further information. Terminal 2 has similar but less numerous outlets available and opening times are restricted to the last flight. Restrooms are clearly marked in locations throughout both terminals and include accessible facilities for disabled persons.
